I talked to my IOI on the phone today. She was pleasant and professional. The first two questions she asked pertained to zoning/business license and I was asked to describe my proposed business model. Being happy with my answers, we're scheduled for our appointment later this week. The interview will be 67 days from the date they received my app.

It took about 5 weeks, but two of those were my fault for lagging on getting a copy of my lease to the agent. I'd say it's about a month if you have everything ready @ the interview.

I mailed in my application 11/24/10 and just recv'd a faxed copy of my FFL last Thursday. So nearly four months for me.

It took almost exactly 2 weeks from the initial BATF visit to receive my license.

What happens during this inspection?

The IOI basically has a checklist of items to review. It's mostly an instructional/educational meeting. Mine reviewed a lot of requirements as far as aquisition and disposition records, the 4473, and stuff like that. The meeting was informative and not at all anxiety-provoking.

My meeting is Tuesday at 10:30 AM, the lady sounds very nice , she told me what she needs copies of (including a letter from my town stating i may run a firearms business at my location), so i can have them ready. She said the rest is basically a educational seminar.
