    Waiting for ATF. How long?

ATF received my 07 FFL app and cashed my check on 01/18, now 50 days ago. I understand that they are required to approve or deny an application within 60 days.

Q: When do I get my license?
The Gun Control Act requires ATF to act on a properly completed application within 60 days. ATF usually considers an application to have been properly completed when all required information has been provided to ATF in writing. This includes submission of the correct number of legible fingerprint cards, the correct fee, a correctly completed application, etc. If material changes have to be made to an application(e.g., a change from one license type to another or the addition of or changes to the responsible persons, different business name, premises address, hours of operation, EIN, etc.) after its initial receipt by the FFLC, then the 60-day processing period may re-start.
I have not had any communication from them yet. Do you guys think I should give them a call? How long did you guys wait until "first contact"? Thanks.

      Just takes time
By time you have all the licenses and permits 7 or 8 months will pass.
I file my papers in June and had my FFL by Oct Next is the state 30 days for the COE takes 30 day and the for the CLEFFL takes think it was only 15 day.

      Good luck

OK, so I talked to a nice lady at the FFLC this morning and she clarified that it is 60-90 day from the date the application is received. She did say that my app had been sent to the field office and I should be hearing from an IOI in the next few weeks.

ATF received FFL application: Nov 1
            ATF cashed check: Nov 3
Local ATF office called to schedule inspection: Jan 21
            IOI conducted inspection: Jan 24

            So just under 90 days.

I was advised by my IOI it "usually" takes 4 weeks to receive my FFL. I'm still waiting...

            Just be patient...

Don't sweat the inspection, ATF was super friendly and easy going, it took about an hour and a half total. I'm waiting on my paperwork from ATF (should be any day now) then I can finally get done with DOJ.

Thanks guys. I just thought that 60 days was the regulatory limit and was concerned. I guess that ATF is free to disregard the 60 day requirement. Waiting patiently.....

Not sure what is going on over there but I can't get anyone other than a receptionist to answer a call and not a single person will return a call.

60 days as long as they don't find a mistake, then they can take another 60 days if they like and so on. Not to worry, as they are not intentionally trying to make it take forever.

So true, they are good people just following procedures, and we are not the only applications they are dealing with
