Yes you did. The Constitution actually doesn't talk about your right to life, liberty and hi capacity magazines or even the pursuit of happiness. That is actually an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence.
The DoI actually states you have unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Further that governments are formed with our consent to secure these rights. The government's job is to protect your right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
If purchasing large capacity magazines does not harm other's rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the government has no business regulating such a purchase. It is actually your right to purchase large capacity magazines.
However, if the government becomes destructive to your rights, it is our right to alter or abolish that government and institute a new government that does respect our rights.
In fact, the Constitution was void of any such protections of your rights and since the Anti-Federalists foresaw your very weak argument that since the Constitution doesn't grant you the right to purchase large capacity magazines, the government doesn't have to protect your rights, they created the specific Bill of Rights to establish that you have certain inalienable rights that the government cannot infringe upon. However, you do not need the Bill of Rights when you have the Declaration of Independence that specifies the sole purpose of government is to protect your rights.
The short sighted Federalist argued that the governed should not have to protect themselves from themselves and that if the people passed restrictive laws, they had no one but themselves to blame. Well we can see how great relying on people to protect their own liberty works.
So please do tell us, how does the government telling you that you cannot purchase harmless pieces of aluminum or steel protect your liberty? The clear answer is the government is actually violating your liberty and if we had any stones at all, we would over thrown this government and re-establish a government that cherished our rights and honestly sought to protect them from despots both inside and outside of the government.
