    FFL wont accept intrastate transfer

I sold a receiver to another member here in California. He just emailed me and said the FFL received the receiver but can't transfer it to him because I am a resident of the state.

Is there any merit to this?

Not saying you didn't do your due diligence because I don't know otherwise, that's just a statement for anybody who ever plans on shipping a firearm to an FFL

Okay so did you have an answer to my question or did you just want to give your opinion that wasn't asked for?

I make it known to my buyers that their FFL must accept from individuals.

It is on the buyer. Hopefully you were paid in full including shipping.

                Isn’t that FFL in Chino?

Your location says OC. Just curious as to why it wasn’t done FTF.

Is the FFL willing to ship it back to you? Buyer should have checked and done due diligence. If shipped back to you, perhaps deduct fees, etc.

Item was sold on gunbroker ; and the last time I sold an item to a guy on gunbroker and tried to meet him, he backed out.

Decided it was just easier to just ship if the buyer was happy with that.

But I did tell this buyer I will just meet him

He can receive it and transfer it to you. However it's not a PPT. You will have to pay the FFL receiving fee ($25-150) and DROS. The FFL just logs it into his bound book as received from Joe in CA the logs it out sold to Mike in CA.

Thanks. But this is a receiver I sold to an individual. The receiving FFL stated he can't transfer it since I am a resident of the state.

This FFL has done wacky stuff before as well.

Short answer, the FFL is just wrong. Simply put. However, unfortunately in this country they do have the freedom to be incompetent.

Sorry for the inconvenience, We already told your buyer(many times) that per our store policy, we DO NOT accept shipments from individual. Every shipment must sent from an FFL.

We were going to send the receiver back but then since you are local, therefore we told your buyer perhaps just have you come over for a quick PPT to avoid extra shipping cost and delay.

It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with rather you are a CA resident or not.

We accept complete Ar lowers ONLY if it already has fin/fixed stock(featureless build) or maglocks, however stripped lowers are fine.

A couple of years ago the San Diego DA was telling dealers not to sell complete lowers unless they were bullet buttoned/featureless because they were considered Assault Weapons.

Even though the dealers knew this wasn't true they played along for ease of business.

Lots of legal things some store are not willing to do.
