COE Renewal

Well got lucky and received my COE renewal this morning. So that took 3 weeks, not the 4-8 being advertised by DOJ. I doubt it was my terse email that maybe expedited it but never hurts to be the squeeky wheel.

Last September, I renewed my COE and it was approved in one day. The situation has significantly deteriorated since then. 6-8 weeks is simply unnacceptable. The state is dragging their feet and underfunding on everything they can to slow down and limit access to firearms. We are 3rd class citizens here.

Wanted to give an update in case anyone is reading this thread in the same situation. It took about 15 days to renew.

Also, the renewal is good for a year from the day it was set to expire, not from the day the renewal was granted. In my case my COE is set to expire in 408 days. So there is no reason to not start the renewal 59 days from expiration just to be safe.

Mine was approved today, very much like Brads. 16 days and shows 408 to expiration.

My COE is set to expire 05/24/20. I went onto CFARS and entered some personal info under the COE tab and received this message “ Your COE association request has been submitted. You will be notified by email upon the completion of the Bureau of Firearms review.”

Does this mean my renewal request is processing?

Horrible site.... finally figured it out.... they don't make it easy to show you where to attach your CA DL...... make sure you do as others have said, even then it may be delayed. Also never figured out how they want your FFL numbers inserted??? No guidelines and after multiple tries just deleted it.
