    COE Renewal

I would like to start the process of renewing my COE as I understand that there are some lengthily delays right not. I understand the you can no longer submit a paper application and that you need to apply via the CFARS site.

For the life of me I can not figure out how to do it on the CFARS site, I have logged into my account I have looked on the main page, my COE page, I cant seem to find where I go to start a renewal application.

The only thing that resembles renewal is the "view or modify COE details" is that where i go to renew the COE?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    1) Log in to web site
    2) Upper left 2nd down Certificate of Eligibility

Renew / Pay fee / Submit / Print your new COE certificate

Total time, perhaps 5 minutes if you already have your credit card out and the speed of your printer

Ok, I am still missing something, I logged into the site, went to the COE page and this is what I see. I don't see renew as an option?

Maybe you're not eligible yet for renewal? I don't remember what is the earliest you can renew. I did mine 45 days to expire.

I looked at your Screenshot and I have to agree with sfe187. You are probably too early

The Certificate of Legibility link should appear when you are within the renewal range

Also you need to upload your Drivers License... something new

I appreciate your post, in my review of the process, I noticed my application was incomplete. I renewed and I printed a new COE valid till 2021.

Three days later the DOJ sent an incomplete notice that had been in my spam box. CA DOJ accepted the money and allowed me to print a valid COE.. I just uploaded the CA - DL. Our state at it's finest

          YMMV

I've had the same issue. A little digging and it looks like you can't renew until you are 60 days to expiration. Anyone want to confirm this or am I missing something as well?

I think you nailed it.. My login in screen is different that his screenshot. The only reason my Certificate of Eligibility link was visible, is because the State changed or forgot to update the website after an administration change

Thanks for all the feedback, I am glad that I am not crazy.

I wanted to get a jump on in because I read about long delays on another thread here, but it is possible that I am planning a little too far out.

I will mark my calendar for 60 days from expiration and try again.

Thanks again for the help guys I really appreciate it!

COE's are part of the Rack back system. If you already have one, they already know you are eligible.... or not. It is automated, in my case, I suppose somebody will look at my DL upload. Bottom line, no face to face

That said... on their end. They may be limiting employees for social distancing. No shows are also becoming a problem for a lot of companies.

Don't forget to attach your driver's license when you renew. That was new for me this year. Renewal also took almost a month to process.

                        What thread was that?
I submitted on 3/2 and they sent a message about my missing CDL and I updated later that day.

                        So far, nothing.

Submitted renewal on 3/3. Uploaded DL on 3/3. Received updated COE on 3/13.

There appears to be no ryhme or reason for time frame.

Still believe DL requirement is just harassment since DOJ policy requiring uploading it goes beyond law requirements of just providing the information contained on it.

I submitted mine on 3/2. On 3/5 they kick mine back to me because of no DL. So I waited awhile to get back to them. I turned in a copy of standard DL and a copy of my maybe 2 days ago I checked and it was already approved. Yesterday, received official notice that it was approved. So if probably would have been only two or three days turn around time if I would have submitted my DL the first time.
