If a field ask for suffix-enter it.
If is does't (IE last Name) don't enter it.

FSC system does not have a suffix field.
    DROS does.

For any dealer who says the suffix is not on the FSC.....it does not ask for it. If the are inputting it last name they are creating incorrect FSC's.
I'm with you. I'm just reporting what different chains have stated in hopes that others may benefit. The policies are not unified across every company.

"Sir, your FSC does not have Jr on it and I can't sell you a gun"
The FSC system does not have a place for Suffix unlike the DROS system. Having Jr in the last name field would be a falsification of my record as would it be for you by changing my DROS records to add Jr in my last name so that it matches. Please follow the law or I will contact the CADOJ and tell them how you are requesting me to alter my FSC with a fake name so they can educate you.

With a name like Bill Smith, I didn't get rid of the "Jr." status when my father passed. Need every bit of info to separate me from the vast field of Smiths.

Have had every problem listed here in firearms/ammo purchases due to my common name and the suffix. Have managed to navigate with effort, but it always is one.

        YMMV
Sometimes a gun is just a gun.

Pretty sure that if there is an issue between what’s in the FSC system and what you try to submit in DES will be caught when you click on preview. If you are able to submit the record in DES and there is a delay/deny issue it isn’t the FSC that is the problem.

Hey if CA DOJ would add a suffix box to the FSC, problem fixed. Everyone should send emails to OPSChiefsOffice@doj.ca.gov and request it and explain how frustrating they have made this. This email I got a response, FSC help desk laughed at me. They didn't like me running it up the chain. Enough people do and maybe they fix it.

                DOJ adds Suffix Box:

Invalidating all FSC that should have a Suffix....

They will just break it worse.
