Sounds like it. Not much I can do as another business. Maybe others here on Calguns may be more helpful.

Also, I wanted to re-iterate that I posted in the FFL forum because I did not know where else to post first. I appreciate the discussion and I have a great amount of respect for people who hold FFL's (I've been looking into getting one of my own). I was incredibly frustrated last night and I know the FFL's talk so i started here.

I'll never understand why dealers shoot themselves in the foot.

There are plenty of things we hate doing but we chose this profession.

UPDATE - Called BAGV and they confirmed they are refusing all PPT's at the moment out of protest. Their belief is that other shops in their area, including US Firearms, Imbert and Smithers, and Reeds, are either already refusing PPT's, charging ridiculous storage fees to drive away PPT'ers, or are specifically directing their PPT's over to BAGV. The rep I spoke with stated that they want the DOJ to step in and level the playing field before they resume PPT's.

So this is how they accomplish this? They feel that because the other shops are breaking the law (if we agree its illegal how they are handling this) they are going to break the same laws? Sounds like the old "well I was speeding to just keep up with traffic" rhetoric.

Well when I was refused yesterday at BAGV I called Imbert & Smithers. They were happy to run the PPT. We drove up. They completed the transaction in less than 10m with alacrity! No storage fee either. Just saying.

Yep, I agree, seems like an odd way to go about making the point as it pisses off customers and potentially brings unwanted inspections/consequences down on the shop.

So all other shops are turning away people with cash in their pockets and sending them your way and their response is leave?

Man, to me that sounds like a great way to get some new customers.

Coyote Point Armory in Burlingame is very PPT Friendly.

We love it when the other "guys" safe is full or some other reason they can't do it LOL.

We welcome any and all Customers with open arms

Normally, I would just make it perfectly clear that he just lost all future business from me, that I would spread the word to anyone who would listen, and then leave and never look back. But, since he's doing it out of "protest" while fully knowing and understanding the law, I would consider that a slap in the face and a call to DOJ would be happening from the parking lot.

                      But, that's just me.

I haven't had time today...been too busy with work. Also, there has been some suggestion that in calling the DOJ I may bring unwanted attention to myself and the gun community...going to do a bit more research before I call.

Went to BAGV tonight to do a PPT. Had a member of this forum driving from MORGAN HILL to Sunnyvale to do the transfer. ...t.
OP, if you are in Campbell, and the other party is coming from Morgan Hill, why on earth did you both drive up to Sunnyvale? There must be 5 or 6 places more conveniently located to do the transfer.

As far as the shop refusing to do the PPT, it may not be best business decision, but he does have point. You might consider being upset at DOJ/State of CA for ramming this stuff down everyone's throats several years back, instead of calling them to tattle on him.

Actually it was the big FFL players in this state that pushed the PPT law through.

That is where the seller wanted to meet. It was his choice...

and no, he does not have a point...he is acting illegally. He could easily charge fees for storage after 10 days like the other shops but instead he's refusing PPT's out right which is illegal. This isn't a DOJ issue
