Sir, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family!!
My brother works for OCSD and is in the Southwest Operations Division. I believe he was off-duty that day, so it may or may not be him (it is a big department, though). I am also good friends with the PAO. If you would like, I can find out the two deputies names for you.

I remember rolling hard for incidents involving children. I always handled the incident as if the child was mine. When holding a distressed child your heart drops. This is one of the hardest part of the job. I am so sorry for your loss. Let me say that all "LEO'S" will take your comments as a "Thank You" for the time they were in this type of incident. Thank you for taking the time to post.Comment

So sorry for your loss. I can not imagine what you are going through. Prayers sent. Kudos to the deputies.
Any OCSD personnel here that can help OP get in touch with the deputies? Just seems to me he would like to thank them in his own way.^^^The above is just an opinion.

"...which from their verbosity, their endless tautologies, their involutions of case within case, and parenthesis within parenthesis, and their multiplied efforts at certainty by saids and aforesaids, by ors and by ands, to make them more plain, do really render them more perplexed and incomprehensible, not only to common readers, but to lawyers themselves. Thank you everyone for your kind words. My wife had the card of the deputies so we were able to send them a thank you, also to the fire department that responded.
It's been a month this morning since my son's death. There aren't really words that express the feelings that you experience with the loss of a child. The pain of loss, the feeling of failure since I was unable to save him.
I find strength in my faith in God and knowing that he's sovereign. That my son is in Heaven and all his genetic defects no longer hinder him. As King David said about his own child; I can't bring him back, but I'll go to see him someday. (2 Samuel 12:22-23)."He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." - Jim ElliotComment

I am so very sorry for your terrible loss. The loss of a child is probably the most terrible thing a parent can have happen to them...I don't know if this will get to the right people, but I wanted to thank Orange County Sheriff Department.
On late on Sunday night (9/7) my 5 month old son stopped breathing. He had a genetic disorder that caused many birth defects and complications. So we knew something like that could happen, not that you're ever fully prepared for it.
While I started CPR my wife called 911 and OCSD was there quicker then I thought possible. They took over for me then I went out flagged down the paramedics. Where we live in our condo complex isn't the easiest to find.
Once my son was loaded up other cars showed up along the way and did an amazing job of preparing the way for the ambulance to the hospital.
Once at the hospital the two main officers that showed up at my house were very cordial and professional, even stayed till my son was stable. I don't remember their names, just noticed that one had a Glock and the other had a 1911... odd the things you notice in high stress situations.
Sadly my son didn't make it, there were complications when they were prepping him for transport to CHOC. Even so I wanted to say thank you to OCSD for their quick response time and professionalism.
Your story brought back a number of similar experiences I had while a LEO. One never forgets when a child dies in their arms, or when you are involved in a attempt to save a child...
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to recognize the officers who assisted you. Additionally by doing so you also thank every other officer who was ever in a similar situation...
You may not know it but your loving and thoughtful words make it easier to remember and deal these terrible tragic incidents.
God bless you, your family and your late son.Poke'm with a stick!
