I'm truly sorry for your loss. Hard to absorb now, but God has a plan. I have to add, I believe with all my soul, a man who is thanking coppers/meds under the situation you are enduring tells me you will be a standup dad with a ton to offer raising a child/children. God Bless.

As others have said, I too am sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story and kudos to the OCSD. I do not know you, but you are definitely a strong person who obviously thinks of others even when dealing with tragic circumstances. I can only hope that if I ever have an experience similar in some way to yours, I will find the strength that you have shown to handle the situation in the manner in which you are current dealing with this.

My condolences, so sad. I can tell you that I have an image of every dead or dying childs face burned into my brain from working as a cop. We always hope so hard that the kids in trouble make it, and it stinks when they dont!

Other than perhaps an "Officer needs help" call; no other radio broadcast will get even the most jaded LEO's off their duffs like a report of a non-breathing child. I still remember the time I was literally around the corner from a non breathing infant; when I arrived at the house the mom literally ran to me and shoved her baby into my arms. I have never again felt pressured like I did that night; having a parent over my shoulder watching me perform CPR on her only child... Fortunately that one turned out alright.
