The 4006 issued by CHP had three characteristics which made it distinctly different from the 4006 available to the public.
Those were:
1.) Bobbed hammer / no hammer spur (first round from holster draw DAO / to prevent intentional "cocking" of hammer)
2.) No checkering on front of trigger guard (no-snag re-holstering / easier on leather gear)
3.) Half-moon recess machined on front strap at magazine well (to aid in the "stripping " of a "stuck" magazine using the buttplate of another available magazine)
Those were:
