    I can tell by this statement that you're probably NOT a cop. Comparing movies with reality in police work???? LMAO. Kind of insulting to the surviving officers if you ask me.

    One time, on CHIPS, I saw them do............ Oh, never mind.

      Yes, I concur. Do you really think you are going to shoot a single hole in the windshield and then use it as a gunport for your follow up shots? Let's think for a moment how ridiculous that sounds, especially when there is a bad guy right in front of your car shooting at you.

        Where is it "correctly taught" at? Does George Clooney operate a weapons training school?

            This is the kind of thing they need to be showing on the network news so people will get a real idea WTF really goes on out there!!!

              Of course you can believe whatever you'd like, but I certainly meant no insult to the surviving officers'

              However, I have found that while movies aren't reality, they can be used as dramatized examples of techniques

                    I've been to Paulden (GS) three times. Twice when Jeff Cooper ran/owned it and once when he didn't. I've never had a class there that taught shooting through one hole in auto glass while up against a shooting and moving target thats directing his fire back at you!

                    I'll also tell you that when I was there, the lead instructors were:

                    1) Ex Dept of Energy guy (no real world day-in and day-out "police" experience to speak of;

                    2) Ex Napa PD guy (slightly more real world "cop" experience, but was really only good at shooting steel targets and basic range handgun techniques; and.....

                    3) A private (never been a cop) personal security and claimed "body guard" guy (who had no experience and no business teaching our class filled with full time cops to begin with). Gunsite saw some really bad critiques from us all at the end of that week.

                    Although entertaining, Gunsite is not a place full of real life experienced "operators." I thoroughly enjoyed myself when I was sent there twice and once on my own, but I've felt that there are better "experienced" instructors elsewhere. The name "Gunsite" and "Jeff Cooper" (RIP), doesn't impress me much. Neither does "George Clooney" for that matter.

                    You shouldn't let TV, make-believe and non-stress range time impress you. There's Hollywood and Gunsite which don't shoot real bullets at you, then there's "reality.". ie. a true moving, tense and rapidly evolving gunfight.
