Yeah. I was somewhat skeptical about the harbor patrol boat because I heard from somebody it was " uneventful". I've done plenty of patrol's before, but your right in saying it will show me a " unique experience". Either way I am grateful for either of the two.

Think about it this way, even if the day is "uneventful" from a LE perspective, you'll still get to spend you day on a boat. Win-win for me.

The boat is definitely a thing to do. However, if you are going to be applying to the agency, you should consider going to the 'ride' that has the most calls for service and/or officers assigned. That would give you a better picture of your likely work day at that agency as you will likely be assigned to that side of the house.
