Hey folks, I'm headed to Legoland with my kids this weekend and wanted to check in advance about Retiree CCW. After a bad experience at the Oakland Colliseum a few months ago (mouthbreather security guard screaming "Firearm! Firearm! I need a supervisor over here!" when I showed him my ID card) I thought id check in here. Can I expect any grief or should I leave it in the car? I'd hate to be walking around Legoland with my shorts falling off...

Why check it in. you are HR218 I suppose is what you mean by retiree. Deep conceal and move about your business. Why are you declaring ****. Unless there are metal detectors no one is checking and if there is patronize somewhere else.Originally posted by TonyNorCalIf I'm going to spend money to touch a woman then it's going to be at a Nevada brothel, on Craiglist hooker, or trolling the streets in a camper van.

I agree with blkside. I was there in March, there were not metal detectors.Comment

Perfect. I only declared in Oakland because of the metal detectors. Thanks for the info!Comment

A sign posted means nothing to HR218 or CCW. I however tend not to patronize places like that. There are a few select places that I must because of the kids.Last edited by blkside; 05-29-2013, 10:30 AM.Originally posted by TonyNorCalIf I'm going to spend money to touch a woman then it's going to be at a Nevada brothel, on Craiglist hooker, or trolling the streets in a camper van.

A business has the right to have a 'no firearms' policy on private property. As an ACTIVE LEO I abide by their rules or I don't go. Theme parks usually have complimentary lockers for firearms. There is a vast difference between Legoland and the Oakland Coliseum as far as potential threats.
There was a thread a while back where people with LTC's were flaunting the fact that they ignore park policy and carry anyway. People who ignore private property rights and end up getting detained & jeopardizing their LTC rights completely deserve it.Comment

If a private entity has a no firearms policy and you are caught violating it, the agency issuing your CCW, even a retired LEO, can revoke your CCW status.
Active duty LEO can face disciplinary action by their department for violating private property rules. LEOSA has nothing todo with private property rights.LASD Retired

And all of the above is fair and reasonable. There is tangible irony in the smug insistence of some to exercise their 2A rights without any limitations whatsoever even when it involves the complete disregard for the property rights of others. If a private entity has a no firearms policy and you are caught violating it, the agency issuing your CCW, even a retired LEO, can revoke your CCW status.

Yep. LASD will discipline someone caught carrying at Disneyland. Before I retired, one of my deputies got caught carrying at Disneyland. Disney Security calls Anaheim PD on any firearms issues, and they will contact the issuing agency or employing department. The deputy got a one day suspension.

Yes, compare that to my Disneyland experience. I contacted security at the gate and ID'd myself. They escorted me to a secured area and offered me a free gun locker and a receipt. I chatted with the guards for a bit, and then went and enjoyed my day. I went back and retrieved my weapon at the end of the day and went home. Much preferable to a suspension, I'd say.Yep. Wow. Every agency is different I guess. First time I've ever heard of someone getting disciplined for something like that.Yep. LASD will discipline someone caught carrying at Disneyland. This is excellent except I had 2 friends who CCW be told that the lockers are for officers only. That me be incorrect as I have heard otherwise but should CCW be turned away if they want to store their weapons. I think it appears to be a case by case basis as Im sure everyone isnt aware of all rules and regulations.Yes, compare that to my Disneyland experience. So they can either leave it in the car or leave it at home. Whether they extend the use of the lockers to private LTC's or not, there is no right to carry inside the park. If they do and get caught they deserve to forfeit their LTC.This is excellent except I had 2 friends who CCW be told that the lockers are for officers only. How can anyone knock Disney for a 'no guns in the park' policy when idiots do things like this?? I am glad a small child didn't get it before an adult did.
"The owner of the gun, Angelo Lista, told authorities he discovered his gun was missing several minutes after leaving the ride. He has a concealed weapons permit.

Is anyone really going to try to defend this idiot's "right" to carry a gun inside the park after this buffoonery?Last edited by Bobby Ricigliano; 05-29-2013, 3:29 PM.Comment
