His wife is a friend of a friend. I didn't know him, but she posted on a friend's FB comment and had the Thin Blue Line profile pic, followed the links and read the story. Sad, sad, senseless stuff. I feel for her

Quack! Anyone saying they are sleeved so people will relate to them is someone that doesn't know how to relate. What do inmates say about deputies that try to be cool with them? They call them ducks and know they are weak.

When you are a cop people see you as their protector or as their oppressor. They like you or they hate you. They don't think of you as the cool dude that understands them.

                  Ignorance

Why is this place so hell bent on taking comments "completely" out of context, then adding their own spin and making off base insertions. Actually I already know the answer.

Let's keep that kind of spin doctoring to the media.

On a side note, it's probable that in the next ten years the tattoo removal business will be a real money maker. When the 20 somethings start aging and applying for Good jobs, those "cool" tattoos will not have the appeal they once did. In addition "gravity" will strike and those detailed tat's will look more like a Salvador Dali surrealist print than what was the original subject matter.

                      Just sayin.

Don't have any ink but have thought about it a few times. I would not get anything that didn't have a close personal meaning. Every time I get close to doing it the memory of what my dad told me many years ago, "Don't mark yourself up like that".

I still have a very cool proof of one of the shot up B-17's he flew on in WWII just in case I get the unstoppable urge. Every time I look at that pic I can't believe that crew made it back to England alive and makes me really appreciate the sacrifice the soldiers have made for this country. I always thought that plane with an angel imposed over it would just be a nice tribute.

Sadly when you enter law enforcement, you become a TARGET. So many dirtbags view you as the enemy and will engage you without care or any other rational reason-which is why they are dirtbags.

Any thing you can do to not ID yourself as off duty LE is a tactical advantage.

Haha hard crowd in here....I am a young Deputy in AZ, and I love Harley's, love being an LEO, and love guns (particularly 1911's). So I have thought hard about getting a Harley tat, and some sort of badge with crossed 1911s(the ones I have for on duty use to be exact). I thought really hard until I thought about the whooping my momma would give me when she saw them. My *** hurt just thinking about it
