    As much as I love cheap reloads, I never shot my duty pistol with anything other than department issued ammunition.

    I figure that if I bought defective ammo outside of the dept and blew up the gun, I'd be on the hook for it.

      Yes it does. I was at a USPSA match (so we can assume most of these guys are familiar with their weapons ) a couple of weeks ago where this happened. The guy was shooting a Glock 35, first round sounds funny and doesn't cycle the slide. He stops, field strips, checks the barrel. Nothing, next round same thing. RO picks up the second spent case, its 9MM . He had somehow picked up someone else's Glock 17 mag and shot 2 rounds of 9mm through a 40.

        Add in the fact that Departmental policy prohibits the use of reloads in any Department weapon or on any Department range and you are right, you would be on the hook.

        You are ok with any factory load.
