Knife carry question?

That must be incredibly uncomfortable to walk around with 2 knives, 2 guns, 2 flashlights, a wallet, cellphone, keys, smokes, lighter etc..

I don't know, I've never carried that much. I think it is kind of mix-n-match;1) two guns, 2) two knives, or 3) one gun and one knife. I usually carry a gun and knife, big light and little light (on the key ring) cell phone, money clip and keys. I'm just happy I don't have to carry two handcuffs, radio, mace, pepperspray and baton anymore

I know several guys who live in places where they can't get a CCW who carry two knives

To summarize

State California allows for concealed carry of the folding knives and there is no limit to the blade length. As long as the knife is not banned by PC 16100-17360 or in Part 6/Title 3/Division 5, it is legal. Division 6 of the same title bans knuckles, division 7 bans nunchakus and so on. 17235 does not make Assisted Openers(AO) illegal. However, depending on the particular AO mechanism and other details some AOs may fall under switchblade category. Kershaw Speed Safe is not one of them, it is perfectly legal, details further down. As far as the state law goes, fixed blades must be carried openly, in the sheath, on the waist. I can't find where does the law ban either double edged blades or dirks and daggers. As the wording is, those are ok for open carry. No knives longer than 2.5"in the school, but folders are ok in the Universities and Colleges. Unless, they were banned by local authorities. No knives longer than 4" in public buildings or buildings open to public meetings, e.g. courts, city halls, police stations, city council meetings, etc.

It's much messier than that.

2 - open carry, but not limited to in a sheath on the waist - that's an example, not a requirement.

3 - that's k-12 for the 2.5 length, and it applies to both folders and fixed-blades. K-12 also bans locking folders.

College and universities don't ban folders of any length, but do ban fixed-blades 2.5 inches or larger AT THE STATE/PENAL CODE LEVEL; University of California (NOT Cal State or private colleges) is like K-12: no locking folders, no blades (fixed or folder) longer than 2.5 inches. UC has its own bit of Calif. Code of Regs.

This is only true if the knife/Knives you are carrying are fixed blade. You can carry as many knives on you as you want, but only fixed blades are illegal to conceal on your person.

Be careful regarding open carry of knives. This is the LA County Code regarding knives.

13.62.020 makes it a misdemeanor to carry a knife with a blade over 3" in plain view.

If we are to go by fatality figures, then we all have to conceal carry doctors and pools, which cause more deaths than guns and knives.

You could conceal carry a Brazilian Wandering spider. I wouldn't count on it knowing who to bite. Or even a Sydney Funnel Web spider, but their fangs can pierce a toenail so probably not a safe bet. lol
