I've seen Corvettes with front plates. It involves removing that curved part in front that says "CORVETTE" and exposing some screw threads, or something... pretty damn ugly.

Displaying your plate in the dash is illegal per vehicle code regarding display height.

      That's for a C5 body style.

The C6 body style started in 2005, no brackets or screws whatsoever.

You have to get an aftermarket bracket.

Many states do not require a front plate

So Corvette isn't about to market just for Ca, although they sell plenty of Corvettes here.

I carry two plates on all my vehicles, but because of the sensitivity of Vette owners, I often take note of other cars and trucks on the road.

On any given day, here in SLO county, I'd say that at least half of all cars and trucks I see don't have a front plate.

So I guess, it's not a priority here for LE to go after these people.

Somehow the plate made its way back inside my car on the way to work that day lol. I told the officer in all honesty, I'm not drilling holes in a $6k bumper.
If you paid 6k for a bumper you got ripped off!

My mistake. The front end was 6k. The bumper itself was 3k. And no, I didn't get ripped off.

            pretty much

The only one I've ever gotten was from a dbag sitting on his bike on the side of the road. I drove by and he pulled me over. Zip tied the stupid thing on after that and left it on.

I'm pretty sure that the dealership has to provide a bracket/mount for the plate.

I got a front license plate ticket on my Vette when I first bought it. CHP pulled me over for 53 on the bay bridge (50 MPH limit) and added the plate ticket for the cherry on top. When I got the tax bill in the mail it said I could either pay one dollar amount and show proof of correction or $20 more and NOT show proof of correction. Needless to say I skipped the hassle of getting it signed off on and paid the extra 20 bucks. Haven't had a ticket in over 10 years. (Knock on wood)

Usually the "no front plate" sections is used when I would like to politely inquire if the driver of said vehicle is on probation or parole.

Funny you brought this up...I have not had my front license plate mounted for years until 3 weeks ago. He was about to cite me a fix-it ticket, but i thought i would just give it a try.

Me: Officer, i do have license plate with me, it's doubled up on my back rear license, would you kindly let me install it in front of you and you will not write me that ticket?
                          Officer: What? are you serious?
Me: Yes, sir. I have it, and i have the tools, i will do it right now.
                          Officer: (smile) sure, go ahead.

                          5 minutes later...

                          Me: Done.
Officer: You have a nice day.

                          Phew!!!!

My truck, car and the wifes car are all 3 without front plates. I'll put them on if I ever get a ticket.

                                Forget the front plate.

If it's like a too-wide-tire ticket, you can just pay a higher fine and ignore the fix. I did this twice on my last truck.... was like $80/each time. Big deal!

I have no front plate on my sportscar.
