Front License Plate

No front plate on either my '08 Bimmer or my '32 Ford. Never have had them, never will... Been pulled over for other things but no mention of the missing plate. If I have to put it on to get a ticket signed off, ok, but then it's coming right off. No alcohol/drugs/other illegal stuff for me, they can pull me over all they want... Used to get pulled over all the time years ago in my hot rod Firebird & hot rod Camaro while cruising town/hitting the bars, etc... I think getting pulled over for no plate has a lot to do with where you are, how old you are, what kind of car your driving, etc...

JFYI, you can also get a ticket for no front plate while your car is parked at LAX, even if you're just picking someone up... BTDT...

I have a 93 Cheyenne 1500 pickup all customized and i have no license plate in the front, im usually just cruising and rarely get pulled over (never in this car, had it for a year and a half), if they happen to give me a ticket for it so be it, il buy the bracket and pay, but right now it looks too good without it, il try zip ties first though

I got a parker for no front plate from some over zealous meter maid on a weekend... and I sent in the proof of correction along with the $10 fee... they sent me back an apology letter and said I can get my $10 back if I filed an appeal... whatever.

let's say the vehicle is registered out of state? Is no front plate legal? Let's also say that person lives in CA but due to their employment status they are not a resident and thus do not have their vehicle registered in CA...

allegedly my tint was too dark when I got pulled over in New Orleans for dew on my windows obstructing my visibility at 2AM, but since I had out of state plates he could not cite me for being in violation of Louisiana law...

If you live in CA, you are a CA resident as far as DMVis concerned and you are required to register your vehicle and have both plates on it.

That won't work. You drive on a CA road, you will be cited for CA laws. Of course, if you really recently moved here, you have a grace period to get your vehicle registered and compliant.

I'm active duty military and my state of residence is the same as my home of record and also where my vehicles are registered. I don't even have a CA driver's license.

The dealer know to have 2 brackets (front and rear) where you can put the screws on and install license plates. If you have your front plate and just have it in the dash, there is this minuscule section in the CVC where you have to have screws. I wouldn't give you a ticket but you're gonna have a recruit who is gonna cite you for it just because.

The CA law requires the plate to be SECURELY fastened which means the zip ties and wire ties don't count.

All those guys with their front plates wedged in their windshields better hope that thing doesn't hit a passenger after a collision. I've only gotten hassled for front plate violations in San Francisco.

I used to keep mine up there but if I romped on the car the plate would fly off the dash. A couple times I was worried about it exiting out the window so I decided to leave it on the floorboard.
