Just be honest. They don't expect you to have been a saint your whole life. I passed my test last week. The BI said he would spot a lie before the machine would. I have a feeling he wasn't lying.

When i took my poly i was nervous as heck and the examiners first question was "when was the last time you masturbated?" There was like a 30 second awkward silence followed by examiner laughing at me. It was all good after that but that was one heck of an icebreaker.

I just came back from my polygraph.. It was very weird experience..
I was told to lie multiple times in order to judge and fine my behavior pattern when lying. I had to take the test three times and I was told that is just normal SOP.

I am so nervous right now... I wonder how long I have to wait until I get my result.
                thanks everyone.

Welp. as long as you don't receive a letter saying that you were screened out and they set your next appointment then you're fine.

They will usually tell you on the spot if you had issues and didn't pass. If they just sent you home to wait for the results that's a good sign.

I was so nervous I would have probably answered him quickly. Which may have led to more laughter, and more embarrassment

Forget about OCSD. You will be happier with LASD.

I am still waiting for my background investigator from LASD to contact me sir.
It has been more than 3 months since I heard anything from LASD.
I hope I also get the call from them soon.

                              BoJack

LASD is real backed up in Backgrounds right now. Since they are hiring so many people, they are processing a whole boat load of folks. I heard from one of Academy staff that they already identified backgrounds as the limiting factor and are in the process of expanding their numbers to push the backlog through the process. Close to 2000 total spots and they have only been able to clear about 250 for academies so far. They should be cathing up with you real soon. good luck to you, which ever agency you end up with. I dont work for LASD but I work alongside them and I have much respect for my brother deputies. They are great people and a great organization. Stay safe
