Good luck to all trying to land a LE job right now!
I've heard LASD has already had 75,000 apply (not a typo.). Does that sound right?

That sounds about right. Back in the day, there were no less than 100-200 applicants per spot.

I handed one of my close friends and credentials fours years ago at his graduation ceremony. It was quite an honor.

          Ernie,

You've earned the right to pin that tin on your son's chest in light of your 33+ years of service. Good on you, and good on your son!

It doesnt help when their parents have rank too. We have several at my unit, and they were all babied and treated with kid gloves while on training. Once off, they were put right into some of the most coveted workstations, as if they earned it.

Ankyle, if you get hired on, remember to pay your dues like the majority of other people have done. Your grandparents, and parents have nothing to do with you. Don't live off of their reputation, carry it on.
            +1 I concur.

Its your career man up and do it. "Department Babies" need to earn it, JMHO
