You nailed it, Ron! Hoyt Holsters ROCKED! I carried a 6" Python in one for years, and loved it. We then transitioned to the 9mm P226 w/a P230 as a backup/off duty gun.

Nowadays (retired) it's a USP compact .40, or if I want "the BIG boolitts", an FNP-45 (which, by the way, I would have LOVED to carry on duty!)

+1000.... carried four and six inch K frames in them happily for a long time. Never used the reverse cant, but I'd bet it was faster than snot.

Neither did I, but I worked with a couple that did, and yep, they were mighty quick!

When I was in patrol, the duty weapon was the issued 92f and my backup/off duty was a S&W Model 60 5 shot revolver. The dept. at the time was very limited in what they allowed for off duty/back up. The Cougar was allowed, but not the Mini-Cougar which was more concealable. I believe most carried a revolver off duty an for a back up. I don't know what they allow now, being gone so long.

The 92F with the S&W airweight 5 shot still seems to be the most popular combo out here. However there are quite a few other choices nowadays. I initially carried the 92F with 18 round MecGars in patrol and an all steel M640 5 shot revolver. I recently transitioned to the M&P 9mm full size with TLR-1 as my PDW and I carry the M&P 9mmC in a pocket holster as a BUG as well as for off duty. The Compact holds 13 rounds, is easy to shoot weak handed, and accepts the full sized magazines. I personally feel this is the best combo going right now.

On duty is a Glock 21 with Surefire X300 and 4 17 round mags. BUG is a Glock 30. These should suffice in getting me back to the trunk.

                      On duty Glock 22 with a Glock 27 BUG. Off duty I carry a .38 S&W J-frame.

Roddd, how is your 4 mag setup on your duty belt? Is it a single pouch four mag? Or a 2 + 2?

Glock 19 and 26 were my favorite combo. I could use my 19 magazines in my 26. Perfect combo, until we went with the aborration known as the Sig 229 DAK. Thank God the powers that be are allowing us to buy Glocks 17's. It isn't the Glock 19, but it will do.

For, duty weapon, they issued me a S&W model 67 38 SPL. After the academy, I carried a S&W model 586. Then, they replaced my model 67 with a Beretta 92F (black). When I went to the Harbor Operations, they replaced my 92F with a SS 92FS. When I left the Harbor assignment, they replaced it again with a black 92FS.

I got tired of it, and went with my personal H&K USP 45. Finally, when they authorized Sig, pistols, I switched to Sig P226 9mm and kept it since.

                              For off duty, I used to carry S&W model 66 w/ 2 1/2" barrel, H&K P7M8, H&K USP 9mm. Now I carri P226 for on and off duty. Occasionally I carry a S&W 342.

Duty: Springfield 1911 .45 or Glock 35, BUG : Ruger LCP
Off duty: Glock 26 with 15 round mag.

I know I carry too many different calibers.
