Do we still 'Belong' here?

The premise of my question is very simple:

As LE officers, do we belong on 'CalGuns' ??

We are 'CalGunners' cuz well, we like to shoot and talk about our hobby and interests in the shooting sports with others !! It's that simple......For the most part, we wish ALL law abiding citizens had CCW rights, we support UOC, we wish the 'roster' would go away and we realize how worthless the AW and mag ban laws are......We are on the side of the 'CalGuns' community.........Natural allies.......

Yet, despite our support of the rights of all shooters, there is a small, but very vocal and viscious 'CalGuns' minority who hate cops. Doesn't matter what the subject matter is, how the question is posed or how you reply; the sharks will come out as soon as they smell blood in the water..........We all know how the 'cycle' evolves........And devolves.......

So why do we continue to put up with it? Why are we still on 'CalGuns' ? Personally, I think it's cuz we love a good fight !!! Its in our blood to stand our ground and not be run off !! We stick together and back each others play........Its what we do.........It's not about 'US v. THEM'...........Its about loyalty, honor and being there for your partners........

Hard to sound impartial to a racial/social/ethnic negative overtone when your one on the hated end. There are those with hard feelings towards cops. I and many others are not one of them. That makes it "us vs. them".

In general the class of people in this country has degraded and become soft, most men these days are spineless and have nothing to live or die for, no honor.. and it was only time before these fools figured out how to fat finger calguns into the browser. Just forget about those people, i stand behind LE and Military 100% and i dont stand up for any cop bashing on any thread i see.

Just shrug them off, in my opinion cops and military can give some of the best advice on guns/gear because they are real users, and i appreciate the unique views from the "other side" LE bring. my .02

I for one have known many an LEO in my life and currently have a few active LEO friends. And I can say without a doubt that your input in any forum is a welcome breath of fresh air to all the hate mongoring fools who see all LEO's as evil doers.
IMO a bad apple doesn't ruin the bushel, yet it would seem as if there are those who hate autority and have a need to lash out at anything they can that may be associated with it. So anytime a discussion is brought up about LEO's that minority is going to rear it's ugly head and spew.

I say ignore it and know that you and your efforts are appreciated.

I know quite a few LE and military people. And without hesitation I will say they are the best group of people I know. When I ask a favor of them and they are able to do it, it is done. To that end, when a favor is asked of me and I am able to do it, it is done. The sense of honor, loyalty, and respect that surrounds these people is contagious, just as it should be. With that said...

I would ask that if you are frustrated with one or more people on CalGuns hang on for just a bit longer. Sadly there are those who are more resistant to positive influences than most others. And if at the end of the day you feel it is time to move on, know that no one here will think less of you. And if I happen to come across you in my travels, I might just treat you to a meal just for holding out as long as you could.

The meal "deal" actually sounds like a fun idea. If any of you LEOs or military folks are in the Fremont/Milpitas area, give me a call and lunch/dinner will be on me (PM me for a number). If you're concerned about accepting gifts (some LEAs draw the line in a different place) I'll let you pay ;-)

I am personally on your side 90% of the time. I consider myself a friend to LE, both inside and outside of CG. If I saw an LEO in trouble on the street, I would do anything in my power to make sure he or she went home safely that day.
I am aware that some CGer's seem to have an agenda. Maybe it is justified, maybe not. I have personally seen some unscrupulous acts by LEO's and I am aware that if it comes down to 'my word against theirs', I will probably lose. I believe this perception is probably the 'root cause' of the animosity. I can only say I will treat you fairly in every situation and only ask the same in return.
Please stay on CG and continue posting. I personally think your insights and your abilities are a great asset to our cause.

Hell no, there's probably one or two people in most neighborhoods that dislike LE. That's just part of life because of the occupation you chose. The majority of people here, and out there, respect or are impartial to LE.

One of my closest friends is an OC Sherrif - Doesnt stop us from disagreeing, debating, or throwing back a few Crown Reserves.
