    LASD Reauthorizes the M&P

M&P is now reauthorized in 9MM, no external safety, no mag disconnect, full size and compact models. Seems the extractor issue has been remedied to the departments satisfaction. It was also noted older M&P's needed to be brought in to have the extractors swapped with a new ones.

.45 M&P is still not authorized.

I spoke to the range staff and they said Smith & Wesson could not find the cause of the barrel blow up last year. It must be isolated metallugical problem. I am glad that they reauthorized it.

I haven't seen the official teletype yet. I guess I need to check it.

Dam, I just picked up the USP 45 and qualed w/ it. I'd rather carry the M&P. I was at the range wed. and all the staff were carring the M&P.

It's nice to see a couple of more members of the dept. here. Welcome zeddy and jc.

If you didn't already know, I retired in 2003 medically and spent 27yrs. on. Missed that great longevity contract by a 1 1/2.

            Stay safe.

if the M&P is not authorized in .45 I'd keep the P220's.

Trained at Lkd. and transferred to Idt in 1982. Left in 1987 when Walnut opened. Good stations.

I had one before they where cool. Great gun, good to see the "kinks" where dealt with. Did they tell the recruits not to try and gunsmith themselves?
