It will only take one dead “city employee” for this experiment to end.

Unless they are also going to change all kinds of state law this will not work. To do certain tasks requiring even the stop, not to mention the receiving of DL and Reg info, and a bunch of other administrative stuff requires state mandated training and classes. Just because they say something doesn’t mean they have the smarts to do it.

Traffic stops and family disturbances are where cops get killed or injured the most. My pucker factor was always high when I handled these call.

Social workers and unarmed traffic enforcement, yeah not going to work.
