I also prefer the esstac mag pouches. Holds very well and not ridiculously expensive like HSGI. I run the esstac double mag pouch for my Glock and the single AR mag on my belt, and the triple mag pouch on my carrier. Instead of carrying extra Glock mags on my carrier, all I did was get some molle straps and strapped on a single 33rd Glock mag across the top of my carrier.

All my mags are fully loaded, but I may consider running them with 29 rounds and just tac reload rather than emergency reload my rifle. Anyone else do something similar?
Yeah, I have extras in my go bag as well.

My everyday outer soft armor carrier I carry 2 rifle and 2 pistol. I agree carrying 6 everyday would be a little excessive and heavy.

I agree HGSI is stupid expensive, I should've looked into some other options before. I keep my rifle mags loaded to 28, just in case I have to load them on a closed bolt.

We're not issued rifles, so this would be more for fantasy camp type stuff for me, but I'd still like a good solution for a quick'er on and off than the flap.

No, and I'm not even sure if PC would allow us to. I'm a P.O.

We've talked about getting shotguns for warrant service, but can't seem to get our **** together.

We're also very rural. I get crap already for the amount of pistol ammo and med gear I carry.

Cobra buckles are awesome. I use a cobra for my duty belt. I think I prefer either the plastic cobra buckles or the FirstSpear tubes for the carrier. After an hour of searching/covering K9 with the carrier, uniform, and soft armor, it sucks. Haha.

Esy, I could vent a lot of silly things that come up, but every agency has it's issues.

I'm just glad we can actually do work compared to friends that work with different counties. We haven't switched to be full on social workers....yet.

I think you'll all be better off using a panel like the HSP D3CRM or D3CRX so you can add in admin items. The Spiritus rigs are good for that also. They're low profile, so you can get low if you need to. As for PC, anything slim and minimal if you intend to double-up. That's also not a bad idea for a primary outer rig if your department allows. You have to be able to move after all.

I personally would opt for the lightest LV4 plates or special threat that I could comfortably afford. They're not cheap, but your lives aren't either. I run Hesco 4400's in my training rigs for economy, but will opt for the 4800 series once Hesco approves vendor status at the shop.

I think the Esstac Daeodon A.S.S./Lite with Hesco 210 special threat plates (assuming you don't need 308 protection) would be light and thin for you to double up. It uses front placards and has polymer cobra buckles. The Velocity Systems LEPC is also a great alternative.

                      Stay safe, fellas.

I have a similar set up, 4400s in my home dedicated carrier, and a l-210 I tuck in the front of my normal external carrier for warrants and sweeps.

The newer safariland carriers make it really easy to throw in a plate relatively quickly, I just wish it would carry the plate a couple inches higher.

I highly recommend the Cobra QD kit. It makes deploying so much easier.
