    Staging Plate Carriers

How are you guys staging your plate carriers for rapid deployment if you carry one? I currently have the left shoulder buckle undone and left cumberbund undone so I can put it on without going over my head. It works well, but just what other ways are out there.

The FCPC Mini Cobra Buckle sold separately to add to your FCPC V5 to have both shoulder straps quick detach.

Right now I have it setup with the right cummerbund undone. It sits in my trunk on the driver side also facing forward so I lift the tailgate and toss it on.

It used to sit next to me on the passenger side, but when I’ve grabbed it from there a few times, it didn’t work the way I planned. Plus, whenever I double up it won’t work that way.

I’d like to get a quick detach system at some point whether it’s the metal cobra buckles, plastic cobra buckles, or some FirstSpear tubes.

6?! I don’t think you’ll need 6. Haha. My plate carrier has a 3 mag pouch and I have one on my duty belt. I think even that is even a bit much.

Can never been too prepared. Haha.

I only have 2 rifle mags on my daily outer soft armor carrier.

I have an SKD tactical PIG carrier with 4 mags mounted on front with HSGI tacos as well as a blow out kit/TQ on my support side cummerbund. Cummerbund is elastic molle from Arbor arms with cobra buckles. Plate carrier sits in passenger seat (buckled in by seat belt) with left cummerbund undone/open. My helmet also hangs from the headrest using a quick release tether I made. Super quick to grab and throw on this way, has already been put to the test.

Stackable Ten-Speed® M4 / AR Mag Pouches use a single MOLLEminus™ column on each magazine pocket making it possible to create double stack mag pouches (i.e., mount pouches on top of pouches). They are available in black, coyote brown, ranger green and MultiCam®, and they come in a variety of magazine pouch sizes: single, double, and triple mag.

                          I ran a 6 pack on a chest rig.....for about one day.

We're not issued rifles, so this would be more for fantasy camp type stuff for me, but I'd still like a good solution for a quick'er on and off than the flap.

I agree you can never be too prepared, but I say just carry enough on you and have a few extra loaded mags in your car. Just my opinion.

I also prefer the esstac mag pouches. Holds very well and not ridiculously expensive like HSGI. I run the esstac double mag pouch for my Glock and the single AR mag on my belt, and the triple mag pouch on my carrier. Instead of carrying extra Glock mags on my carrier, all I did was get some molle straps and strapped on a single 33rd Glock mag across the top of my carrier.

All my mags are fully loaded, but I may consider running them with 29 rounds and just tac reload rather than emergency reload my rifle. Anyone else do something similar?

Can you supply your own rifle?

I work in the county in a rural mountain area where backup can be 30+ minutes. It's just makes me feel a little more comfortable having 6 mags on the rig and more in the go bag just in case.
