Issued Beretta 92FS, but carry HK P2000 on/off duty.

Rumors have that they are going to start issuing the S&W M&P 9s to the new academy classes to test em out. Supposedly they are going to replace the 92fs with the M&P 9. Hope it's true.

Others carry USP 45s, Sig p220s. Oh and we just starting getting 870s. Some station still use the good old Ithicas.

Just replaced our Glock 19's with crappy Sig 229 DAK's. Worst decision ever made!! Long guns we replaced our AUG's and MP-5's with Colt M-4's.

Off-duty and secondary carry is Glock 26 9mm.

Issue is Glock 22, some deputies who were employed when semi-autos were first adopted carry others - HK USP, Beretta 92 are the ones I know of. All new deputies carry the issue Glock. There is an AR in every car.

          My preference? Either a Glock 21 or a 1911.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

What about the AW that sits in your patrol car?

what do you guys carry in there?

do you even have an option?

              Our Police Department issues Glock Model 21 .45ACP's and Glock Model 22 .40 S & W's. We carry Benelli M-4 14" Shotguns and Colt/Bushmaster M-4 .223' rifles. We also have an H & K Model 416 .223 and some Springfield M1A and M-14 rifles.

              SWAT has H & K MP-5/40's and Colt M-4 .223 rifles.

As for allowed duty weapons, we can carry any .40 S & W or .45 ACP caliber handgun that we can qualfiy with. We can carry anything as a BUG or off-duty handguns.

              I carry a Kimber 1911 Super Match II .45 ACP on duty and I carry a Glock model 27 .40 as a BUG. As for an off duty gun, I carry a Colt Commander XSE .45 ACP, S & W Model 642 .38 Spl. or Glock Model 27 .40 S & W.

I was issued a Beretta 92fs as well but carry a glock 21 that is a personal purchase. My agency now issues the glock 22.

We have Mini-14's in the units. We used to be able to carry our personally owned AR's as long as they were checked out by the range master. A member of the Executive Staff decided there was not a need for two different long guns. He'll be retiring soon and hopefully we can revisit and reevaluate that decision.

Glock 22. I wish I could carry a HK USP 45 for duty.
