Congratulations, and best of luck in your new free state.
The legislator is also working on legalizing shooting of rat-shot within city limits for pest control. That is making the news locally.

Congrats! What part of AZ did you move too?

Phoenix City Counsel also voted against becoming a sanctuary city.
Phoenix officials turned down a petition to adopt sanctuary status for immigrants on Wednesday following an emotional discussion that ended with chants against the decision.

My wife does not want to move. I even had a great job offer after retirement in another state, and she refused to go.

I told her that I will move and come to visit her every month, and it did not go well, either.

Arizona is on my short list of retirement spots.

If you are thinking AZ, avoid Tucson unless you are fine in Liberal land.

Anyone making a trip to AZ will see why this is a good thing. I'm not just talking about the critters. The city limits of most towns, is most of the time a very long way from the town itself. You can live in the middle of nowhere and still be in the city limits.

You could have purchased one. You just wouldn't have gotten any AW exemptions. In other words you would have had to follow the same rules as everyone else. Most sworn LEO's in CA are in the same boat, so your indignation
falls on mostly dead ears. Even the magazine capacity exemption isn't of any use with bullet button or fixed mag rifles.

When I retire, I'm getting a vacation home in the woods of northern Arizona. That was my wife's compromise. So in other words, AZ will be my main residence and Cali will be the "vacation" home.

The only down fall to a non federal employee job is AZ is a right to work state and doesnt recognize unions. So to date, the living wage gets father apart from the cost of living. This is why the starting wage for a State of Arizona firefighter is 29k a year. The king doesnt chip off his gold too often for COLAs.

I have been in AZ since 2014 and love it. It is cheaper to live here, especially when buying a house. Side note: If you want to see some great non-desert Arizona take a trip to the White Mountains. Lovely up there with great hunting, fishing, and camping.
