Its a great day. Congratulations Sir. That emptiness will be filled with all of the great things you can do and you dont have to schedule around your shifts. No more reports to write, review or correct, no more BS from upstairs and definitely no more crap from the anti cop folks on the street. You can now say yes to hiking trips, fishing trips, trips up the coast, around the world and you no longer have to request vacation. Its a great day.

Congratulations again and I hope to follow in 11 years. Great retirement Sir.

Wish rest of you all a prosperous and safe career. Time will go by whether you realize or not. I still remember the first day out of academy long time ago, with an issued Smith & Wesson revolver.

Now, I cannot buy a non-roster pistols, and I need to provide the second proof of residence although I am still exempted from firearms safety card. I am not a good guy anymore.

It felt strange to receive a piece of paper specifically saying that I am no longer a PC830 peace officer.

I told you earlier in this thread that you better buy what you want before you retire because after the fact you will have to pay the California black market price for weapons. You know, the current 250% mark up for a $359.00 blue label Glock. Only in CA though. All the guys that relocate out of state can walk in a LGS and walk out in 20 minutes with their purchase. Can you imagine they don't even need a letter from their department head and to think the respective States without a gun roster still survive.

You're still one of the good guys, but you now live under the same laws as Joe the plumber and not Joe the cop. Congratulations on making it to retirement. A noteworthy milestone that so many do not make due to injuries or worse yet, EOW.

                    Congrats "R" M911!

What would happen now if you decide to go Level 1 Reserve....would that solve your gun purchase issues?

Fortunately, I bought some guns couple of weeks ago, and I am picking them up tomorrow. I am okay, The future one is the issue. But, who needs more guns?

It will sure solve the non-listed guns, but reserves are still subject to one gun a month rule. And, I am not doing the reserve. I may be too busy and may not be able to commit hours required for the reserve. You know, active life style.

I may move or establish a residence in another state, and buy some guns there and keep them there. My cousin bought some assault weapons and is keeping them in that state.
