Ummm, Josephine County voted down joining Greater Idaho. Jackson and Josephine are Commiemexafornia infested.

They voted down Greater Idaho there. And, there is smog check. For those reasons we lost any interest in that part of Oregon. (Deschutes, too.)

I am 62 years old. I lived my entire life in CA. One year ago, I moved to Idaho. Hands down, it was the best decision of my life. I can't tell you how much happier I am. I finally live in a place where my government does not hate me.

Of course, the gun situation is day and night. No CCW necessary. Carry what you want, where you want. Buy ammo online or at the store and take it to the counter yourself. Buy any handgun you want and walk out with it in 20 minutes. Take the ridiculous fins and muzzlebrakes off your AR15s. I just bought a suppessor. Every single person on my street owns guns and shoots. We get together as a neighborhood and everyone talks guns, even the wives.

I can echo nearly your entire post word for word, I left CA over 4 years ago for Tennessee and everything here is as you describe there. I do have a lifetime CCW here though for reciprocity, I also have a lifetime hunting and fishing license that's good for life even if I move. Everything is better here IMO.

I'll add... it is the least racist place I have ever been, the stereotypes perpetuated by the media are a lie. Nobody even talks about it here, ever.

Exactly, we also had a list and that was on it. I've got a little spiral pocket notebook somewhere packed away with endless pages of reasons I wrote down in case we ever fail to remember what we left behind.

The $25 I paid today for vehicle registration for my 3/4 ton work truck that was over $700 in CA was a nice reminder.

It is definitely a place I could move to and will probably be buying a home there soon.

We have several CG'ers in that area and I am about 90 miles N/E and I suggest you talk to all of us if you can and get the lowdown, which you will also have some perspective on by your family members of course as well. Tennessee is a wonderful state, but there are things to watch out for that we don't (didn't) deal with too much in CA.
