Well, we made it. Snuck out of California when they weren't looking. Taking our tax dollars to a better state. We didn't go to far. In fact we just moved next door. As of last Friday we are Nevada residents and man does it feel good.

We found a little farming town up in the northern part. Yerington NV. Initially we wanted some land to go with the new (to us) place but we ultimately decided on a nice house in town. It's an older house built in 1965 but it's 2,200 sqft with 4 bed 2 bath and we love it. I've already met the local gun store owner and we hit it off rather well.

I know some of you expats are up this way. So give a shout and we can grab a beer and you can tell me all the finer points of the area.

Congrats. Now do some exploring to make sure you have severed all ties or the tax guys will try and figure out how to get money out of you. DMV make sure you use at least return receipt mail and stuff like that.

Thanks everyone. Haven't been able to do the traditional 30 mag dump yet. Unpacking a ton still. I joined Nevada Shooters awhile back but need to post more.

The DMV and completely severing ties with Kali is my next project. I have all the paperwork lined up already. Just need to get the needed docs to send into the Kali DMV.

Filling out the new state form and also copies of the registration in the new state is what it took for me. They were relentlessly stupid for about a three month period, then I finally got a live CA DMV girl on the phone and to her credit she spelled it out for me, I did that and it's been clean sailing since.

Thanks AC. I'll follow that advice to the letter. I'm actually surprised you got a hold of a live person there. I thought for sure it was entirely automated by now.
