My plan was to sbr my 2 pistols and pay the tax.now if it’s voided and can do for free I’ll still sbr them will make it easier to build the xm177 clone I been wanting to do.

The thing to do is now to make sure all the pistols you want to SBR have a brace. Maybe one brace can be used for all your pics. Some pistols will readily take an AR buffer tube (e.g. CZ Bren 2, B&T APC), but I would think the ATF examiners will reject a broomstick and cardboard duct taped to the back of your MP5.

Yes, but it's easy to screw in a buffer tube and slide on an SBA3. Nothing has to be torqued or staked or anything like that. Take pics, unscrew and put into the next one, and repeat.

So you must need to take huge hi-res pics to get the brace AND a readable serial in the same shot.

So if they make us register it as an SBR, that means once registered I can put a regular stock on it? I haven't seen anything where it makes a distinction between a "braced" SBR vs. regular stock SBR.

Yes sbr will allow a normal stock from all I’ve read about this “program”. There’s also not enough info about it and I read a few posts on arf about it. Braced sbr could be a thing. Time will tell.

But there are strings attached with sbrs, most notably like loaning it, selling it, or crossing state lines.

SBR is SBR. You will be able to put any stock on it you want.

Don’t bank on it with this new program. The atf is constantly changing the rules when they feel like it. Until all details are out and the process is available we shall see

What was legal will soon be illegal because….they changed their minds

That's kali. As effed up as the AFT is, they aren't THAT effed up as to do anything resembling kali.

They haven't created a new weapon type ever since I can remember.

5th circuit court (TX and OK) has already judged that ATF cannot make up laws...only Congress.

Agreed. Yet (most) follow them lol. Shouldering debacle and the current trigger thing, even the solvent trap stuff going on.

Once registered, you really can't unring that bell, so I want to leave a couple-three unregged, hoping that someone straightens out the AFT.

Yep! ATF rule on braces/SBR is dead. Won't go nowhere.
