Who’s going crazy doing eForm 1s? That August date may seem far away, but it will be here before you know it.

(For those who haven’t heard, that’s when ATF’s pistol brace ruling is coming out)

I recall that promise of waiving the $200 fee, but I doubt that they’d be that generous, especially under this administration. If that were the case, I can easily come up with 6-8 pistols I hadn’t planned on SBR either. About a third already have a draft eForm 1 application with the ATF, I just can’t bear the thought of spending another $200 on them.

The only downside of an SBR here in my state is that you cannot carry a rifle concealed or a loaded SBR in the car. Pistols, yes. If your state does, good for you!

Yeah, not likely with these bastids.

I'm really hoping a flood of lawsuits hit the courts before then. How many braces out there? Must be over a million. Plus it destroys the business of the brace makers. And where are the libtards? They don't care that handicapped people will be made into criminals?

Can I register a stripped lower as a SBR?

Yes, that's how I did mine. Built it after I received the approval.

The waiting on my E-filed form 1 is just about at 70 days now. Still in the, submitted - in process part. I try to not think about it as the time goes by, but I sure would like it to show, processed soon. I am thinking of starting another new SBR registration and hoping to get them both back before summer. This is a lot more frustrating than waiting the 10 days in CA for a new favorite handgun.

@scout II - 70 days!!! Is this your first time submitting a form 1 as I have heard that it can take longer for first timers. Not sure why that would be the fact but I've read it enough online from experienced people that there must be a little truth to it. That seems like a long time to wait on an approval that is taking people on average 2-4 weeks. I recommend calling the ATF to see what the hold up is?

Yes, I am a first timer to the form 1, and form 4. I just thought it was my luck to take longer than most other folks to get approval.
I will have to look into this and see if I can find a contact phone number and give them a call this Friday on my day off.

Mine was 100 some odd days.

Go into the ask the experts area and submit a question about your length of time. Be sure you include the permit number. I still think that is what actually got me to the finish line.

This is the strategy I had. Not sure if it works, but it does release the pent up frustration lol

I've got like 3 or 4 form 1s I still need to file. Hopefully the turnaround time isn't too terrible so I can get to building.

Think I may do my new pistol build as an sbr depending on the brace ruling.also thinking better to do earlier as well.
