    Form 1 for SBR

For those of you that have built an SBR how long was your wait for your stamps?

I E-filed and was told turn around time was 30 days and I am on day 57.

I figured it would take a bit anyways, just curious what others experiences were like.

Mine has been as short as 12 days and as long as 5 months. Most are less than a month.

My last two were 29 days and 33 days.

My last was 16 days. Did you do it as an individual or trust?

They seem to be taking longer on NFA stuff in 2021.

Individual. Haven't set a trust up yet.

Is this your first? I've heard the 1st one can take a while.

                          WOW!!!!!!
That has got to be the fastest approval I have ever seen. I’ll

Let me ask you all a question. For my last 4 SBRs I had my receiver engraved before submitting my F1. This was recommended to me by a person who has a bunch of SBRs. His reasoning behind this is if he waits till his is F1 is approved, sends it off for engraving and it gets lost. He’s SOL and is going to have to go back to the ATF to report a lost NFA item. That seemed like sound reasoning to me so I followed his lead. It adds a couple more weeks into the whole process but atleast when you get your approval email, you can slap on your stock and and VFG and be done with it. Anyone else do engrave first and then submit?

I engrave mine only after they're approved. On a CZ Scorpion, I had payers remorse after I filed it, so I changed my mind and wrote them to cancel through "Ask The Experts" tab. Fortunately they had not yet processed my application. I heard a gun would fetch less money if it had been engraved with your info.

I hear you. I had a Scorpion and before I had a single round through it decided I wanted to form 1 it. But after firing it, the desire to turn it into a 'forever gun' with my name on it decreased month after month. In the end, I just could not get excited about no matter how much I shot it and was glad that I did not turn it into a SBR. I ended up trading it for a FAL and feel like I came out ahead on that deal.
