Be honest, who misses it at all? I for one do at times...

Yeah, Afghanistan. I don't know lately I've just really wanting to go back and then I saw this on the MSN main page and got to wondering if I was the only one.

What timeframe were you there and what did you do when you were there?

2005-06 RC South. Spent a lot of time on the boarder at COBs doing patrols and interdiction. Don't get me wrong, it sucked a lot, but there was just something about being there...

You probably miss actually doing stuff. I hated garrison outside of field probs. All you do is busy work like sweep the motorpool.

I don't miss it one bit.

I miss being in an EOD shop, a LOT. I'm old-school from back when EOD units were between 6 and 15+ guys (all EOD qualified for at least Phase II) broken down into 2 or 3 man teams depending on the headcount. I gave serious thought to re-upping for Iraq but there was ZERO possibility the Army would grant the appropriate waivers.
