We even had 'em in basic training. I got my promotion orders (PV2-"skeeter wings") and headed to the BX to get my new stripe. Some of the new idiots just drafted just went in and bought whatever rank they thought they should have. Got back to the CO area, and formation time, and guess who got to do lots of PUSH-UPS (not me)!

              Drafted??????????

              Push-ups????????

              How old are you

              1) I could see drafties doing something like that if they don't want to be there.
              2) I could see them getting simple punishment like push ups as drafties because if they got kicked out everyone would be doing it, and today I could see someone getting more than push ups for something like that. That could ruin a career.

              Funny story:
At my first drill I got to help the supply Sgt, and he tasked a group of us to inventory the winter uniforms being sent back. Many of them still had the ranks on them. We were just messing around, and one SPC pulled a Lt bar off one uniform and wore it on his.

Now, we were merely messing around in the supply cage, so no harm done. but I had hope SOOOOO BADLY he would forget to take it off when we went back to the main building. He didn't

Is the MSGT for real. I just saw the picture. Do they just throw ribbons at you for any reason in the Air Force? I've seen some legit stacked people. Not like that.

Never been in the service but have a funny LEO military poser story regardless. When I went to a two week patrol carbine course some while back we all went out drinking 1st night. As is common in LE, many of the guys are ex-military. One guy from my agency is indeed a former Ranger. So guys are talking about prior service and this comes up. Another guy, who was older (40's) stated he was a Green Beret. So we're all wowed by his coolness and whatnot. Well when we get into the nuts and bolts of disassembling an AR-15 he just cannot do it. I had never seen or handled an AR in my life at this time, It's not hard. I watched the instructor do it once and like magic I could do it. The "Green Beret" couldn't field strip an AR-15!

Long story short, a week later we're all drinking again, everybody starts giving him sh*t, the ranger guy ends up tackling him and has him in a control hold and says he won't let him up until he tells the truth. The guy broke and admitted he was a small engine (generator) mechanic attached to the 5th special ops group. It's been eleven and a half years and I can still totally remember the guy. We called him special forces dave for the rest of the training and contacted guys at his agency to make sure it followed him home.

We were at an event and Col. McKnight and Sgt. Mullen were there. He talked to them like they were old friends. When he walked away, they were both saying "Do you know that guy? I don't remember him." With a little research, it was exposed that this person was never in the Rangers. Needless to say, I don't talk to this D-bag anymore.

Totally remember this guy. Kinda sux too b/c aside from his fantastically unbelievable war stories, he was a nice guy. He hung around my circle of friends for a while. IIRC he fled to FL because the fuzz was onto him.

PS- we might know each other IRL. small world, sorta.
