The 40th is like CA's main NG unit if you want to put it that way. You've got the 40th infantry division which is headquartered out of Los Alamitos, where you will find a lot of those unit patches. You'll also see those patches up at HQ in Sacramento, and lots of other places. We also wear that same patch in the CSMR, except we have a little CA under the sunburst bear. Then again, ours is real, and sanctioned...which is why this one irks me.

It seems that non of the members in USAFVR are actual actual service members. When I called them yesterday they were caught totally off-guard to explain anything about their group, and the last person I talked to said that NG members "train" them, and that they are a "hobby" group. I am waiting for a call back from them today.
