Question is MEPS what we used to know as AFEES? I don't recall MEPS, my first stop was AFEES, of course that was many moons ago.

** Never mind answered my own question - its appears that AFEES was renamed MEPS in 1982 (at least that what it says for the one at Ft. Jackson).

Ummm... I understand that MEPS is the government processing center and AFEES is the commissary.

Found the reference I was looking for - a little history - MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) "was originally called the Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station (AFEES); the name was changed on 1 january , 1982."
