                        MEPS = Military Entrance Processing Station , IIRC

                        BTDT back in 1982 ......and got my guarantee to Airborne BEFORE i went to Basic.....never wait till afterwards and hope you get the option.

                                Found the reference I was looking for - a little history - MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) "was originally called the Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station (AFEES); the name was changed on 1 january , 1982."
