IMHO God is telling you to find a career outside the military.

If your having second thoughts about joining from the few headaches you've been through, don't waste your time on Ranger school, or any high speed schooling, the stress those schools put you through will have you questioning your motivation much quicker, hence the high dropout/ failure rate.

I wish you the best in any direction you take. Remember, if it's important, you'll find a way to make it happen.

35M is a good MOS i have several friends that are "collectors" it used to be 97E. the Army switched the MOS numbers around this year. 35M has potential outside the military with a tour or 2 under your belt. JerryM will be able to answer this better than i if he sees this. intel is the oxymoron of the military.

35M will put in the front line of intel gathering or in dentention center. depends on what the unit is doing in theater.

you picked a good MOS if you can get in and pass the course it's not bad. good luck to you.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

The military doesn't need drug adicts. Try the KISS army.

Yeah, whats up with difficulty passing the drug test?
Besides, with a bum leg I don't think you're going to make it in the military.

Like everyone else. Do something outside the military. Reason number 1 you went from aspired ranger to human intel?!? this tells me you may be joining for the wrong reasons. many people who join just becuase they needed a job or had no direction in life, 90 percent end up unhappy with the experience and or outcome of their service.

This may come as a bit of a shocker - but recreational marijuana use is pretty prevalent these days.

lol not even these days. I once had a 1st SGT who told us about how in the old days he and his buddies would take shrooms before making c130 jumps. People love to make stereo types about people who use drugs I've known career military people all the way to very smart business owners who make millions who have used drugs.

No doubt and perhaps even more prevalent during my time on active duty.
Nonetheless, the OP gives no clue as to what he had been using.

Personally, I have no problem with the occassional recreational use of pot however, if caught in the military its going to cost you a minimum of an Article 15 with the loss of a stripe or two, some $ and some additional duty.

The OP claims he has given up all drug use. Thats fine with me. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.
However, IMO the temptation to use/abuse drugs and alcohol are far greater in the military than civilian life with the additional stress of long overseas deployments, boredom, homesickness etc.
