A FL state representative on Monday introduced a 2025 bill gutting their Red Flag law and legalizing unpermitted Open Carry. The rep will step down to run for Congress so someone else will have to pick up HB 31 and push for it.

Looks like in North Carolina Republicans held on to their supermajority in the senate so that chamber could vote to override any CC veto. Unfortunately they lost their supermajority in the house so that chamber can’t override a veto. So Republicans blew their chance to push through CC despite a veto by their Dem governor.

I'd say it's still an uphill climb w/o the Governor.Comment

FL: dead. The sponsor of the Open Carry legislation left the state legislature. (Why isn’t some other Republican stepping up to sponsor it?)
NC: passed both chambers of the legislature but Dem governor will probably kill it.
Bottom line: another year with no progress…Comment

Looks like FLORIDA gunnies won an OC case appeal so unpermitted OC should be legal within a month.
By the sound of it the court ruled that unpermitted OC is The Right regardless of what the state does with Concealed Carry.
Gov DeSsntos and the state AG said they won’t appeal the decision. Some sheriffs and chiefs said they’ll stop enforcing the unconstitutional ban immediately.

Looks like there’s some pro Con Carry activity going on in Pennsylvania. That and NC are our best chances over this next year IMO
EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Protestors called into question where one local representative stands on gun rights issues Friday. Republican state officials and gun rights activists rallied outside the Cambria County Courthouse in favor of the Commonwealth adopting a “Constitutional Carry Law” that would allow Pennsylvanians to carry a gun without a permit. Currently 29 states […]Comment
