POLL: Should colleges and universities allow students to carry concealed weapons?

If it is a non government funded college, then no, they shouldn't be forced to do anything. Their school, their rules. Don't like it, then don't go there. But if they get government funding, then yes they should have to abide by the Constitution.Comment

Yes. I'd even go further and say people should have all the right to carry on public transit as well."Prohibit the peasants from owning katanas, wakizashis, arrows, spears, or matchlock rifles. If the peasants are armed, they will not pay nengu (taxes) and they will not be subordinate to the officials."
Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Sword Hunt Edict of 1588, establishing the class division between the peasants (commoners) and the samurai (the governing elites).

I work for SDSU at one of the remote stations, and have been accosted by not just wild animals, but by humans, both legally and illegally in this country, that were armed, and all I've been allowed to carry is pepper/cs spray because the station is considered an extension of the university. The nearest law officer is nominally 15 to 30 minutes away minimum...
I voted yes in the poll. Please vote to support those of us hindered by needless laws that put my life in danger because of the unforseen consequences that come due to these laws.Comment

We all know these polls mean nothing, right? Especially when sites like ours encourage their members to hit them up.
I have one daughter in college and another that recently graduated. I say no, students should not be able to carry. There are just too immature kids and too many shenanigans go on at college.Sent from Free AmericaComment

So all of them should have their rights taken away because some that you know are immature? We all know these polls mean nothing, right? Especially when sites like ours encourage their members to hit them up.

When I was in college, I carried. An early PPK-S. 5 years. All the time, every day, and a Mossberg 500 "Cruiser" in my dorm. Several people knew, nobody cared, and I didn't care a flying-fig if anyone did.
The usual that would have happened was a scolding and a "be careful", at worst a misdemeanor the equivalent of a parking ticket. In those days, and where that was, you wouldn't have lost your 2nd Amendment Rights just for carrying a loaded firearm for protection - if that is ALL you were doing.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment
