I appreciate all the LEO's service but your not a protected class in my eyes.
I agree with you Brother. Unfortunately the upper echelon of our departments are the ones who could have any influence to our benefit.

The average Coppers are adamant supporters of the 2nd Amendment ( For EVERYONE). More than most people realize.

Ummm, rather than pounce on the OP and try to rub his nose in it, why don't you folks grasp the opportunity he has just handed you?

Many here have posted that it would sure help having LEO and their Unions behind us.

Now is our chance to make it so.....

Let's help him get the word out to LEO agencies, retirees, etc....

Agreed. While I am the first person to stand up for our LEO's, I wonder if this guy was complaining while we the citizens were being disarmed? He is only worried now because retired police are being affected?

If we are going to do this, why not include SB 374 as well? I know many LEOs who own personal ARs.
              SB 374 affects them too.
What use is SB 396 if you are forced to turn your AR into a doorstop?

Too bad LEOs weren't "in this together" with us civilians back when it could have REALLY made a difference in this State. Back then you all were more then happy to enjoy your privileged positions and let your Union support anti-gun laws in exchange for higher paychecks.

It's not the same. The legislators will grant them exemptions to appease them and we will be left hanging.
"I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

I appreciate that you agree with me! I know that many rank and file do. I also know that many pay lip service to non LEO's. LEO's are human and if it does not affect them it is not quite as important as if it does!!!!!! We are human and it shows everywhere. "IF IT AIN'T ON MY DOORSTEP I CAN WAIT TILL IT IS".

I am confident it is on every gun owners door step in California today!

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

No, they can no longer grant exemptions for retired LEO.

Exactly.. IMO I think teh word shouldnt get out to LEOs, then if its passed there will be a bigger push for repeal.. at this point they can still add excemptions??

I see... this could be a really big plus for us in that case.

Retired LEO's might be criminalized by this bill? Equal protection under the law. That's all I have to say about that.

As for the bill itself, I oppose it and all other gun bills passed since the 1934 National Firearms Act. I urge our fellow citizens in Law Enforcement to oppose all of these gun bills in process now, and even push for repealing all the other gun bills that have done absolutely nothing to remove firearms from the people that most want to harm LEOs and the rest of us.

Peace Officers and Retired Peace Officers are our natural allies in this fight. We need to welcome them. All of us who own, or wish to own firearms are in the same boat. The goal of those we are fighting is to divide us, and incrementally, baby step by baby step, continue until we are all disarmed.

Unless we realize this and hang together, we will all hang separately.
