Don't click on the link! It takes you to Rachel Maddow's blog, increases hits on the site, creates credibility and pays her money.

Christie will make a fine Democratic Candiate for president. I hope he runs, as a Democrat, in the Democratic Primary - where he belongs.

Here's the descriptions of the three that were vetoed:
S2723 - The "Sweeney Bill" - Places training requirements on being able to own a firearm in NJ, creates an ammunition and long gun registry, eliminates private sale of firearms among law-abiding citizens, eliminates online and mail order ammunition purchases, imposes 7 day waiting period on hand gun purchases, voids all current FID cards and replaces with a possible drivers license endorsement putting privacy at risk.

A3659 -The "50 Caliber Ban" This bill will ban all firearms that shoot centerfire cartridges that attain a muzzle energy of 12,000 foot pounds or greater. A limited "grandfathering" is offered, but requires registering the particular firearm and prohibits transfer of these firearms to heirs upon the owners death. The bill also specifically prohibits anyone with a pending order for one of these firearms from taking possession once it is passed.

A3797 - Mandates the New Jersey State Police publicly disclose confidential ATF gun trace data. This is in violation of federal law limiting the data to law enforcement use only, and potentially allows the ATF data to be exploited to falsely suggest legally obtained guns are the source of "illegal guns".

He did sign 10 others that were mostly about increasing penalties on current gun control laws. At least that's what I heard.

I loved the comments on the Rachel Maddow article originally linked in the thread. They amounted to "boo hoo, Gov Christie didn't give us 100% of what we wanted! <pout pout, whine, complain>"

My take on the vetoes is he's got his eye on 2016 and is trying to appear middle of the road, signing 10 anti-gun bills and vetoing these three. I suppose he doesn't care that such a strategy endears him to neither camp, however, in the split it seems like the things he vetoed would have been much worse than the ones he signed.

I mean about specific legislation. But I could be wrong.

Now that he vetoed a gun bill ( or two ... three ) gun owners can rationalize that he must be all right and they can vote for him for Prez with a clear conscience.

Watch; he's about to become the Great Republican Hope...

                      But there is no hope.

Please note all the democrat governors who vetoed a 50 ban and signed 2 progun bill s.

It's never enough for those Calgunners who unknowingly get their info from a George Soros website . No matter what the GOP does its never enough.

I challenge each Calgunner to join the Hillary for president campaigne. If enough you contribute with money and bashing her opposition she could win.
The downside anti gun, total international law, UN pawn. !
The upside Calgunners who support her will not think of themselves as losers.

                            Well, that
And his generally anti-gun stance and his chumminess with Obama.
                            BUT...
I will give him major kudos for his fiscal conservatism and his standing up to the unions.
