IMPORTANT UPDATE RE: SF AMMO POSSESSION BAN SET TO TAKE EFFECT APRIL 12th

Rather than defending against a lawsuit, San Francisco reversed its previous position this week and issued a formal opinion conceding its new ordinance doesn't ban hollow points, and applies to virtually no ammunition.

Holy crap that is awesome news
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed

It is not about the GUN it is about the RIGHT

Gun control has its roots in RACISM and CLASSISM, if you support gun control you support those two evils

That's a real nice, well written article. Good job, NRA and Chuck Michel et al.

The SFPD letter clarifies that ammunition must be “identical in all ways” to Black Talon in order to be prohibited under the new ordinance. Black Talon itself has been out of production for nearly two decades.
          Lee is a fool.

this will be nice to keep track of

If anyone is threatened for a violation of this law or provided with conflicting information, please contact Michel and Associates, P.C.. The NRA’s lawyers will also be working behind the scenes with the San Francisco Public Defender’s office to make sure there are no successful prosecutions under this ordinance

LOL. What? You mean you don't want to be sued and lose? Okay.

We all know damn well that this wasn't the way they intended the law to work. They know a hollow-ban would not pass muster and they don't want to be the test case to granting powerful protections to ammo so they interpreted the law the basically not do anything other than ban people from possessing ammo that hasn't been produced since the 90s.

Out of my own ignorance of politics, Ill ask this question . Can we hold these a**hats responsible for wasting resources trying to come up with frivolous legislation?

Thanks Clint, not what the opposition was expecting I'm sure. Back-pedaling at it's finest...

So Lee successfully banned one brand of ammo that's been out of production for 20 years?

Outstanding. Lets hope some of the other garbage they're pushing ends with the same outcome. Waste of resources as someone previously stated.

There should be a lawsuit against Lee and gang for misappropriation of state monies. We need to find a way to stop their wasting of dwindling resources. Bad enough that we give billions to criminals that are not legally entitled, now we have the lawmakers burning even more. How do we sue?

Is the NRA still going forward with a lawsuit? I read the letter from the SF Police, and I am not convinced they are backpedaling. It seems more like they do not know yet what is covered.

I would think the vague nature of the possession ordinance would still be attackable. If I recall correctly, possession of ammunition which is not on the banned list published by the Police Department is not sufficient to avoid prosecution.
