These are passive scanners. They're not shining X-rays at you. Humans radiate in the terahertz range naturally, and a dense metal object in your waistband will block it, leaving a detectable outline.

NYPD: "Sorry, Mz. Claymore. We thought that you husband was a terrorist because our scanner showed what looked like a gun in his waist band.

You just need to find out what frequencies in the terahertz range that these scanners read, and then develop a small transmitter that floods the area with those frequencies. Blind their scopes.

The other to "related" articles linked at the bottom seem to indicate they need to bounce terahertz radiation off what they want to image.

You won't need to do that. Enterprising people like Mike Valentine will probably make these "body jammers" and sell them along with the Valentine 1. Maybe they'll even be the same unit for "all around protection".

How about some development in all composite/resin guns?

It would clearly be a fourth amendment violation if authorities performed blanket scans on city streets. There may be no expectation that one's actions are private in public, but there is an expectation that one's pocket contents and possessions are private.

Terahertz radiation might also be bad for you. http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/arxiv/24331/

Doubtful the FCC will license that for you.

This was an interesting statement in the article.
However, it seems the the 2nd amendment vanishs when you leave your house.

Might work in New York city or Illinois but what happens with all the legit concealed carriers everywhere else? Unless we are required to have a chip broadcasting our CCW licence number? Another step in the wrong direction.

They'll probably make trying to deceive surveillance a felony. It's NYC, after all.
