And that's from a burst. Any bets on when they turn this stuff on 24/7 in "sensitive" areas like Times Square or 1PP? How'd you like to be under the "gun" for a half hour or more waiting for a theater ticket?

scanner technology is going to improve leaps and bounds over the next 10-20 years. As another post said, the 4th amendment and technology are going to be banging heads alot more ...

All this does is convert concealed carry into open carry. Given a few years the technology will get smaller and cheaper until you can put in a cell phone or similar sized package. Even if it is made illegal for the hoi polloi to possess, that won't stop the criminals from getting it meaning they will know who is armed. The best counter to a bad guy using that knowledge to his benefit is to make sure everyone is armed.
Politicians and criminals are moral twins separated only by legal fiction.

Am I the only one who was more disturbed by the stop and frisk routine they're doing now? How is that legal? Ordinary brown guy walks down the street can be frisked for nothing? Or is probably clause extremely... loose there?

Excelent, now all I need to do is find out where it is and cut out a piece of sheet metal with a profile of an UZI and a string of grenades.

Fud. Soon there be ceramic frames and plastic ammo casings. It would render these machines useless.

Don't bet a wooden nickel on that... scanners will be able to identify any chemical compound eventually. Not just THz scanners but all kinds of active scanners using RF, light of various wavelenths, sound, etc... to find objects of interest.

                                Thanks Bloomberg.

It trully amazes me how our opponents make unlikely allies for us.

Up till this year, most marijuana activists really didn't care about the 2nd amendment, that is until Obama betrayed them and they are pissed.

They care alot about their 2nd amendment rights NOW since the ATF said if you have a MJ card, you can't have guns. See, the way they see it, a loss of one right leads to a loss of other rights which is why they have to fight for all their rights, even the ones they may not care to personally use.

It is obvious where the ACLU will stand on something like this, while the ACLU hasn't been our friend in the past, since Heller, many of the state chapters have become pro 2nd amendment.

This is something that the ACLU and pro gun organizations could easily work on together, because gun rights are civil rights.

This fact that New York would even consider such a techology shows that it is a "Police State".
