    Yeah. Slaughterhouse.

If you question that bit of 'black letter law', on what basis do you believe any of it?
Well, see, that's what I'm wondering: how "black letter" is it really?

I suggest there will be none either way - LTC law in CA is pretty new, as far as application, because up until now there have been so few out there.
    That's what I suspect, too.
The Constitution is not "the Supreme Law of the Land, except in the face of contradicting law which has not yet been overturned by the courts". It is THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND, PERIOD. You break your oath to uphold the Constitution if you don't refuse to enforce unadjudicated laws you believe are Unconstitutional.

The real world laughs at optimism. And here's why.

The lower in the law you go the more likely the actual text binds. See e.g. OLLs.

Ask the judge for Rossow. We did.

        That's what I suspect, too.
Keep in mind that for whatever reason no one did before what we're doing now, with some very acute exceptions.

Slaughterhouse was not a California LTC case.

          Really, KC, context is important.

You would also have to have seen the sign and if in a situation when you would have to use the firearm legally, you can do so legally if your life is threatened.

What would have to happen here is, the proprietor would have to see the weapon and alert you of the sign and policy and then tell you to leave. If your refuse, LE could then check you for a weapon.

              Update

Guy I work with just got his permit in the mail yesterday. Nothing has changed on the restrictions, just the usual no drinking/no bars thing. All's well for now.

It's supposedly now being listed as a condition on the actual LTC card, along with the "no alcohol consumption" condition.

Does anyone have any additional info on this?

Has anyone been issued an LTC with this listed on it?

Is this an issue that CGF should address?

Two different permits received within the last week, neither of which have a restriction related to "posted signs." I'd say that pretty definitively shows that this is a non-issue. Thanks to both of you for the recent updates.

You might want to change the thread title to be a question rather than a statement too. It will reduce the FUD of people skimming through.

As stated before, you might go in to pick up someone to give them a ride.

Also, in some restaurant/bar combinations, you have to go through the bar area to get to the restrooms, or have side entrances through the bar. This allows you that passage.
