As I mentioned once in another thread about their facebook page, bRaDy's are a bigoted bunch of rubes that gladly discriminate and censor a class of people’s words because we may cherish our God given fundamental 2A civil rights. They're the same mentality types that were around during the time of black segregation. Instead of signs that say "No Blacks Allowed" their signs say "No Gun Owners Allowed". There's no difference here. Back then, It didn't matter who you were. If you were black, you were a lower class of people. To brAdY, it doesn't matter who you are either. For those wondering, the 11,000 number is close to the number of firearms homicides each year, but a little inflated.

I believe they're using CDC statistics, which aren't as accurate as the FBI UCR statistics, which exclude justifiable homicide by civilians and justifiable homicides by law enforcement.

For those who think suicides are included are wrong, if they included firearms suicides, the number of gun deaths each year would jump to around 25,000-30,000

Justifiable firearms homicides by private citizens number around 200 each year, and by law enforcement around 300 each year. Yes, there are a few, but not "a majority" like someone had suggested in another thread.

According to the FBI, firearms homicides that were not "justifiable" in 2010 numbered 9,000 something. And that number was following a downward trend spanning several years, that according to the 2011 FBI preliminary crime report, is still falling this year.

The number is inflated, but not an insane amount like some are suggesting. And yes, I believe many of them are criminals killing other criminals.

i say we light up our own candles for the senseless number of victims they have created.

I have said it before and ill say it again, If any of my family members or I end up being shot, or in a confrentation with a gunmen, I will go to whatever lawyer will take my case and sue the hell out of the state of CA, I'll sign the dotted line and let the lawyer get every penny in compensation. But I SHOULD NOT FEEL UNSAFE walking around because I cannot protect my family and loved ones out side of my damn home...

I agree with the Brady Campaign -- "something needs to be done". The victims need firearms donations so they can arm themselves against future potential violent crimes. The Brady Campaign can start.

What I love is that the Brady crew and the main stream media never seem to mention stories of people using their guns to effectively protect themselves and their loved ones against criminals. I would venture to say that the number of lives saved by guns might just out weigh the number of lives wrongfully taken.

The "Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence" needs to stop focusing on the "Gun" part of their title and more on the "Violence" part.

Some would suggest that a counter protest could be beneficial to getting our message out. Our numbers would surely be greater if organized properly. Perhaps groups of people standing in solidarity with their tactical high-lumens flashlights aglow would surely eclipse the candle holders?

In 2009, the last year there is data available, there were 38,500 deaths attributable to vehicles. Assuming there are the same number of vehicles as guns, vehicles seem to be approximately 3 times more dangerous. In actuality, there are probably more guns than vehicles.
